You Again

So, tonight my Mom and I went to go see the movie, You Again, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Christina Applegate. It was pretty good actually. The story line is that Mani (Christina) was bullied severely by a girl named Johanna (J.J for short) in high school. Her brother, Will, winds up getting engaged to Johanna as time passes. Mani's high school nightmare slowly starts inching its way into her life as an adult. Mani's mother also has a high school nemesis who is ironically Johanna's aunt in the movie. Overall, the four ladies quarrel through out the entire movie. They are each presented with various cruel high school memories and stories during the movie. In the end, the four decide to make a truce and to put things in the past. The movie was sort of cheesy in a way, but it wound up being pretty cute in the end. All through out the movie they showed Mani getting bullied by Johanna. It brought me to think about how much kids are being bullied these days. Not only are they being pushed around in school, but cyber bullying is becoming a big issue these days as well. It's so sad to hear about these poor kids who are so easily influence by these sick people online. It's pathetic how these people have enough time on their hands to sit around and torture these kids. Bullying is bad enough in person, but when people are communicating online, words can be even more hurtful. If someone is bullying another person via internet it is much more likely for them to say more personal comments. When you don't have the risk of being caught by a teacher, you're more likely to be more crude probably. In this movie, Mani wasn't bullied to this extent at all though. It just brought me to think about all of these awful things that are happening in the world around us today. In the end, it was nice to know that the four women sorted out their differences and put all of the bullying to the side though. :)
